Richard Guzman, PE | Principal
Richard Guzman serves as our Founder | Principal of the firm. Mr. Guzman has 11 years of electrical engineering experience and is professionally registered in Texas. His experience includes design of power distribution systems, lighting sys-tems, instrumentation, SCADA design, controls, and communication systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, stormwater pump stations, sanitary lift stations, and private industry facilities.
Electrically, he is skilled in low/medium voltage fault tolerant systems and emergency generators in harsh industrial environments ensuring power utility compliance. He is knowledgable of relevant safety codes, including NEC and TCEQ. Throughout his career, Mr.
Guzman has acquired extensive experience with industrial control systems (ICS) design best practices. His security expertise includes video management systems, surveillance cameras, analytics, access control, fiber optic communication systems, network systems, and structured cabling.
Richard is also a skilled project manager, whose efficient communication and commitment to construction oversight ensures that projects are completed on time and within budget. His passion for providing an thriving environment for engineers led him to founding the company to serve not only clients but each team member of Guzman Engineering.
Travis Cheek | SCADA Manager
Travis Cheek leads our SCADA programming department and is skilled across multiple manufacturer products including Siemens, Schneider, VT SCADA, AVEVA, Allen Bradley, Maple, and others. Travis has built his reputation in the Texas region by maintaining high availability, professional personality, an impressive technical expertise to all things SCADA/Networking, and an extreme work ethic to support his clients. Travis’ agnostic, wide range, of manufacturer system experience has led him to work on small to large scale SCADA Systems spanning 20+ interconnected facilities.
Mr. Cheek is experienced with serving various cities, MUDS, and water authorities to meet both client timelines, technical competency, and providing the most effective solution to each individual client.
Stuart Kinzel, EIT | Electrical Engineer II
Stuart Kinzel is an EIT with the firm and over two years of experience in electrical engineering, control system design, communication design, SCADA systems, and security systems in the water/wastewater industry. Mr. Kinzel is a Texas A&M College Station graduate. Stuart has quickly made a mark at Guzman Engineering with this high attention to detail, work ethic, and strategic mind set. Stuart adds value, strategy, forward thinking actions, and dedication to every project he is a part of. Mr. Kinzel has passed his PE exam is set to become a licensed Professional Engineer in 2028.
Jonathan Allen | CAD Manager
Our production department is led by Jonathan Allen which has 12 years of experience in designing and developing construction drawings for water/wastewater facilities. Mr. Allen is proficient in Autodesk AutoCAD software and is skilled at prompt sheet set configuration for prompt production speed. As an experienced production and designer for water/wastewater facilities; Mr. Allen serves as our production quality control to ensure deliverables meet owner production requirements and internal company standards.
Matthew Huff | Electrical Engineer I
Matthew is an electrical engineer with experience in instrumentation, controls, and industrial system design. Mr. Huff studied Electrical Engineering and Mathematics at Texas A&M College Station. He has experience troubleshooting high-voltage systems and coordinating with cross-functional teams. He brings strong attention to detail, keen programming, and project communication skills that are evident in his engineering work.
Yong Lee, E.I.T. | Electrical Engineer III
Yong Lee, E.I.T., serves as a Electrical Engineer III with the firm and has nearly ten years of experience in electrical engineering focused on municipal water and wastewater facilities in Houston and Dallas, Texas. Mr. Lee specializes in electrical power distribution, controls, backup generator systems, construction drawing development, and project management. Throughout his entire career, he has coordinated projects from proposal development through construction while working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams across various scales of project sizes.
Yong brings strong technical knowledge and hands-on project experience to each assignment for both small and large projects. His careful and detailed approach helps keep designs aligned with project requirements and industry standards while maintaining deadlines and quality.
Angel Casiano Reyes | Electrical Engineer I
Angel Casiano Reyes is an Electrical Engineer I with Guzman Engineering and a recent graduate of Texas A&M University Class of 2026. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, allowing him to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients and project teams. His experience includes designing electrical systems for municipal and industrial facilities while supporting electrical calculations, construction drawings, and code-compliant designs.
At Guzman Engineering, Angel supports the design of electrical distribution systems for municipal and industrial projects. His work includes load analysis, conduit and wire sizing, arc flash studies, and construction drawing development. He works alongside senior engineers and other project teams to develop dependable designs that meet applicable codes and project requirements. Through his work, he continues to build his technical knowledge and project experience. Angel has already made a splash with his speed, commitment, and passion to maintain our values; Trustworthy, Efficiency, and Reliability.
Shemaiah Arazo | Operations Coordinator
Shemaiah Arazo serves as the firms Operations Coordinator, providing administrative support and helping keep daily operations running smoothly. She is a Certified Human Resource Associate with experience in executive support and human resources across a variety of organizations. Her background includes coordinating interviews for U.S.-based medical providers as part of recruiting efforts and has experience guiding new hires through the onboarding process while supporting HR initiatives.
Maiah has shown advanced skills in office management, strategic planning, and technical development that allows the firm to affirm to its values of Trustworthy, Reliability, and Efficiency as we grow and continue to serve clients across the entire State of Texas.
Ymer Rizza P. Serrano | Executive Assistant
Ymer Rizza P. Serrano serves as an Executive Assistant at Guzman Engineering, bringing a strong background in education, customer service and administrative support to her role. She is a Licensed Professional Teacher and a cum laude graduate of Philippine Normal University–North Luzon, where she earned her Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in English.
Before joining Guzman Engineering, Ymer worked as a secondary English teacher, developing lesson plans and leading classroom discussions that helped students strengthen their communication and critical-thinking skills. She also supported U.S.-based accounts through her customer service experience, responding to client inquiries and handling sensitive customer concerns.
Ymer’s background has strengthened her ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and manage multiple responsibilities. Her experience in education and client support translates well to her role at Guzman Engineering, where she provides dependable administrative support as the firm continues to serve clients throughout Texas.
